I am a marathoner: I own way too many running shoes and my closet is full of work-out gear. I try to infuse all things health into my daily routine from fueling my body with healthy nutrients to grabbing some fresh air each day. Take it from this recovering perfectionist (okay, still recovering) -- your life doesn't have to be perfect, but it does need to be healthy. A healthy life is probably going to look different for each person, but what I am learning is this: a truly healthy life is one that rotates around physical, mental & emotional goals: health to the core.

It's amazing what you can do when you set your mind to something. I'm convinced a good workout routine really isn't about peek fitness quality or big muscles. It's about setting your intention and a goal you cannot ignore.
Some of my friends set out to run a marathon over a decade ago, and I didn't want to be the last gal out. I bought the running shoes and went from the couch to a half marathon in 3 months. It actually wasn't that difficult because I really wanted it -- seriously.
Now, I'm 12 marathons & 12 half marathons into this 12 year journey. Running has changed my mindset, taught me perseverance and allowed me to meet some of the coolest people.
